Here are 10 Things to Organise your home this Spring…

  1. Do a ‘Spring Clean‘. The kitchen, the, bathroom, the bedroom, the living room – move all the furniture and vacuum beneath, wash the curtains, air the bedding and get it all fresh and vibrant.
  2. Clean out the cupboards. The linen, your clothes, the kitchen – see what’s there, toss or recycle to a better home anything you no longer need.
  3. Back up the computer. You know you should do it but when was the last time you did? Do it NOW!
  4. Declutter and file any loose paper.  Toss in the recycle bin or recycle anything you don’t need. Local doctor surgeries would love your old magazines.
  5. Find five items each week you don’t need and give away or recycle them.
  6. Plant flowers and crops. Get ready for the salad season plant the fruit, vegetables and herbs. Taste the gastronomic delights, eat the organic harvest and be active at the same time. (See: What to Plant in Spring?)
  7. Clean up the backyard or balcony. Get ready for BBQ season by fixing the fence, checking the furniture and making sure the gas cylinder is topped up ready to go.
  8. Feed the garden and lawn. Spring is a great time to feed organic fertilizer and seaweed onto the garden and lawn and help it launch into spring.
  9. Aerate the lawn. Now is the perfect time to aerate the lawn and give it time to heal so it looks great when you’re out there all summer.
  10. Prune, repot and top up the mulch. Spring is the time you’re active and enthusiastic get everything done now so it looks great and you feel you’ve accomplished and can reap the rewards in coming months.
