Animals
‘I ask people why they have deer heads on their walls. They always say because it’s such a beautiful animal. There you go. I think my mother is attractive, but I have photographs of her.‘ (SU5)

ORGANISATIONS
Australian Wildlife Conservancy ….click here
Australian Wildlife Conservancy (AWC) is an independent, non-profit organisation dedicated to the conservation of Australia’s threatened wildlife and ecosystems. Australian Wildlife Conservancy was formed to stem the tide of extinctions overtaking Australia. Australia has the worst record of mammal extinctions in the world. More than 22 mammals have been lost in 200 years alone. AWC’s mission is the effective conservation of all Australia animal species and the habitats in which they live. AWC protects over 1200 species of native wildlife – more than any other non-government organisation in Australia. 90% of AWC’s total funds are invested in conservation, with less than 10% spent on administration and fundraising combined.
Assistance Dogs Australia ….click here
Assistance Dogs Australia obtains, trains and maintains dogs in community settings to assist people with their disabilities, to give them more confidence and to help them achieve a greater level of independence. These dogs undertake everyday tasks such as opening doors, pressing the button to cross the road, picking up dropped items but most of all they offer a form of confidence and independence to someone in the community. The Assistance Dogs are fully trained to international standards and provided to recipients with physical disabilities free of charge. Assistance Dogs not only assist them physically, but also these special dogs relieve loneliness and social isolation, helping their owners integrate more with their local communities. Sponsor a Super Puppy through the Supper Puppy program and help change someone’s life for the better. Assistance Dogs Australia also need homes for Puppy Raising, Puppy Sitting, Puppy Socialising and Bed and Breakfast.
